Welcome to Kittsee!
The village of Kittsee is grouped around the village green. The oldest parts of the village are next to the main square and at the so-called "Schanze".
Because of its location near the Slovakian border it has had a lively history.
Important battles between the Roman and Germanic troups, and Quadi and Markomanns took place.
Friends of beautiful buildings are advised to visit the Baroque castle that was built in the 18th century by Paul Esterházy. Concerts of the Kittsee Pannonian platform take place there too. The ethnic museum for eastern and south-eastern Europe is to be found there.
