RECIPE "Osterpinze"

Easter customs have a long tradition even in a bakery.
Special breads and rolls are being prepared for this event.

In spring when the sun gets warmer again bread in the form of a sun was baked by old cultures. This way the popular 'Osterpinze' bread developed over centuries and nowadays ranks among the most popular Easter customs far and away.

Ingredients:

500 g flour
Dry yeast (1 sachet)
100 g sugar
Vanilla sugar (1 sachet)
100 g butter
200 ml milk
4 eggs
Egg yolk

1. Put flour, dry yeast, sugar, vanilla sugar into a bowl and add eggs.
2. Melt butter in a saucepan and add milk. Pour the mixture into the bowl and mix well.
3. Cover the bowl and set aside for about an hour.
4. Knead the dough and form two balls ("Pinzen").
5. Cut a cross into the top of the balls and brush the top with egg yolk. Pre-heat the oven and bake for about 40 minutes (180 °C).
6. An (Easter) egg can be placed on top of the Pinze.
