This Biedermeier Villa is the place where Bad Ischl´s most famous summer visitor, Austria´s Emperor Franz Josef I, resided during 60 summer vacations.
And it´s where you can still experience the personal ambiance of the Emperor, completely unchanged. His collection of hunting trophies can be seen, as well as numerous memorabilia and the private and official rooms of the monarch. It was from the Kaiser Villa that World War I was declared in 1914, aptly if optimistically named "the war to end all wars". You will see, during your visit, the original proclamation of war on the desk in the Emperor´s study.
