Ellmau is set in the Wilder Kaiser-Brixental ski area, Austria`s largest interconnected, snowsure ski area with 93 lifts, 250 km of slopes of which 180 km boast artificial snowmaking.

The popular TV series "Der Bergdoktor" is being shot in the lovely mountain village at the moment. Ellmau has also provided the backdrop for many other film productions.
