Eschenau today

The community Eschenau is located in the administrative department Lilienfeld on an altitude of about 400 to 800 m, and encloses an area of about 25 km², half meadows, half woods, and marked by a geological east-western separation line: in the north sandstone, in the south limestone.
The biggest asset is the intact nature, with a clearly marked varied landscape.
More than 30 km of marked hiking paths (Eschenauer circle hiking path, must-fruit-path, several paths leading through the community area), and more than 100 beds are offered to our guests in order to relax.
About 1000 inhabitants live in the village parts Rotheau, at the entrance of the valley, Steubach, Eschenau and Wehrabach.
An important source of income is agriculture. Of the 70 farms, already more than half have dedicated themselves to organic-biological farming (organic farmers).
