Town/City: Grundlsee

Little timber cottages with wood carvings, small porches at the entrance and a kind of narrow roofed balcony show the most beautiful shades of red of their larch wood in the summer sun. The Grundlsee with its natural beach which is many kilometers long is a paradise for swimmers, divers, surfers, yachtsmen, sunbathers and nature lovers. We offer a thrilling children´s program with treasure hunts, painting competitions, baking your own bread and open fires on the beach...
And when you learn about the many hiking trails and mountain tours, the modern riding arena and the cross-country riding possibilities, you might well be surprised that Grundlsee has still kept its natural character.
In winter skaters will enjoy the huge skating area on the lake. Cross-country skiers, skiers and tobogganers can rely on the reliable snow conditions in the Grundlsee area.

Worth visiting are the Grundlsee parish church (1888, neo-Gothic), the Meßkapelle chapel in Gößl (1819/20, its construction was sponsored by the archduke John), the Imperial Stables in Grundlsee with gallery, "Via Artis", an artists´ trail with four stations.
