The center of Untertilliach is surrounded by hamlets on a sunny plateau, each consisting of several old farmhouses and a chapel.
Its seclusion and natural beauty have made Untertilliach a favorite getaway for those who enjoy the riches of peaceful living in the countryside.
The Lesachtal received three meters of snow in December, and one meter in January. Even old natives hardly remember that much snow.
